I’ve been into this insane hit Korean drama lately, Descendants of the Sun, and it’s giving me major eyebags and Korean cravings. So I was on a hunt for Korean Army Base Stew, Budae-jjigae (부대찌개), and Bingsu (빙수), a finely shaved ice dessert over the weekend and what do ‘ya know, I managed to shoot at magical golden hour while wandering around Tanjong Pagar, Singapore’s Korean foodie enclave.
Can you believe it! I’ve never shot with the sunlight hitting my head like this and I’m just thrilled that it happened last weekend. I was like, “Oh my god, the light is good. Here!”, and my poor #instagramboyfriend had to put his starving tummy aside to shoot in the heat. But wow, I have to say, the light and photos do so much justice to my current head of light brown tresses, just freshly coloured and trimmed last Friday.
Anyway, I really liked the soft brown hue that Song Hye Gyo or Dr Kang Mo-Yeon sports in Descendants of the Sun. I was thinking a lighter wash of colour would make me look more youthful. Of course, Song Hye Gyo is a beauty so anything looks good on her, but I was up for something new.
Okay guys, focus on Song Hye Gyo’s gorgeous ash toned hair and not that chiselled face of Song Joong Ki
Remember this post? Yep, I won’t give up till I lightened my hair significantly, but without bleach. That said, my base is still a little too dark to achieve that, so I placed my faith in Elein to do her thing.
After Elein heard that I really wanted to go much lighter, that was all I needed to tell her, and she was off, picking the right shade from the L’Oréal Majirel Cool Cover Real Mocha Brown range.
What caught me by surprise was that the chemical treatment (colouring) did not cause my curls to straighten out. Perhaps, it’s because I’ve done the Mucota DYNA Treatment Perm twice so far and the curls now have better staying power.
It’s been three months since my last Mucota DYNA Treatment Perm and it has only gently loosened out into soft mermaid waves. I really like the treatment because it’s no fuss, low maintenance and doesn’t require extensive care. (I only use some hair oils and masks in between salon visits and I don’t frequently make an appointment at Headlines by Artistry because I haven’t got the time to.)
What’s most interesting to me is how my hair quality was a bit dry on my visit, but my hair ends were not split and still in good condition. My previous experiences with perms do not leave my hair as soft and silky as the Mucota DYNA Treatment Perm does and that’s a relief that I’ve found the right treatment perm that works for me.
The Mucota DYNA Argan Oil Treatment (both DYNA Straight and DYNA Perm) starts from $250 to $310 and pricing differs depending on individual’s hair length and texture. Quote “Carrie Sim” and enjoy 10% off the Mucota DYNA Argan Oil Treatment.
